Description

Job Description:

Applied Clinical Informatics Physicians use their skills to support our critical missions of providing care to underserved patients in our community and education of Informatics fellows, Family Medicine Residents, and other health professionals in practical and meaningful ways. We work closely with Epic analysts, clinicians, and operational staff in an effort to optimize our systems. We have been an Epic shop since 1991. We are small for an Epic client but that also provides the opportunity for agility, simpler governance, and a deeper hands-on experience in an organization that understands the value of and need for informatics. We provide outpatient services through 14 clinical sites spread over 30+ miles. We do not provide inpatient services but have good relationships with our 2 local hospitals (also Epic shops) and collaborate with both.

We have classified this as a hybrid position. In our organization we find that it is valuable to have in-person presence for the majority of our time, and at the same time value the benefits of fewer interruptions for a portion of our work.

Because the successful applicant will be a part of our informatics fellowship faculty, being board eligible or certified for Clinical Informatics is a requirement. We encourage an applicant who is in the process of completing an informatics fellowship to apply.

The clinical portion of this job requires a primary care specialty. While Family Medicine would be ideal for supporting our clinicians, other primary care specialties like Internal Medicine or Pediatrics will also be considered.  Please visit our website at www.wacofamilymedicine.org.
